Am I right in thinking the original shock can be fitted with an aftermarket spring ?? I've seen them for sale but I always thought the original shock wasn't servicable.
Has anyone here done it ?? Is it a home job ? What did they get, where from, and is it worth it ?
Only interested in doing this if it makes a noticable difference, not interested just for bling. I have an original unused shock here, and I'd stick it in that one.

Re: Rear Shock Spring
Yes it can be re-sprung & it will make a noticeable difference as the standard is too hard.leevtr wrote:Am I right in thinking the original shock can be fitted with an aftermarket spring ?? I've seen them for sale but I always thought the original shock wasn't servicable.

Re: Rear Shock Spring
its only the main body of the shock thats not servicable, as mac said changing the spring isn't a problem, hyperpro/hagon/k-tec and a few more sell them. just get it matched to your weight mr slim jim....
not sure if you will need a special tool for the job, obviously you will need something otherwise the spring would be flying thru the air...
and you can always paint the spring yellow again, to keep that standard look....
