Brake & clutch reservoir question
Brake & clutch reservoir question
Everything I have researched on when replacing clippons to a flat bar setup require to remodel the fairing to allow the reservoirs space. My query is, would it be feasible to fit lower rectangular allu reservoirs as opposed to the standard ones. If this is possible which types would be most suitable?
Re: Brake & clutch reservoir question
On mine using a fairly low profile 1" rise bar clamp and the low bend renthals I needed to trim the fairing to miss the bars, the reservoirs are still inside the fairing.
If you use the flat bars with no rise then you don't need to cut the fairing but the master cyl ends where the hoses mount will clash with the tops of the fork legs so you then need radial versions.
Have a look at my thread in the workshop section for pictures on how the low bend fits and where the reservoir sits.

Re: Brake & clutch reservoir question
I wonder if anyone has ever thought about moving the fairing and bracket forward to avoid trimming. It would require moving the side mounting Z brackets or whatever they are called but it would be possible. Just make a plate up to extend where the fairing bracket mounts on the steering stem. I would think there is enough play in the wiring loom to move it forward and inch or two.
