ABS BRAKES
Re: ABS BRAKES
I guess it all depends on the style of riding, I don't like ABS on bikes, i like the freedom to choose how much braking to apply on the front and rear brakes, but I know plenty of people that vow for that, on a VTR it would be a PITA for sure, beside the rotors that you cannot find for these wheels you have all the computer controls, calipers and etc, the closest to a VTR you can go with ABS, would be Ducati ST3 ABS models.

Argh that's what it's called. I call it manual ABSCadence braking

Re: ABS BRAKES
The ABS only kicked in on my bike when wheels locked. A sensor picks that up and then applies cadence braking. If the sensor breaks, a warning light came on. If the warning light was broke, you'd soon find out. lol
I was able to ride flat out and jump on the rear brake worry free. Braking to scrub off speed in corners whilst banked over wasn't a problem either. The only problem is, when you come back to a bike without it, doing any of the above could become problematic if applying a similar force on the brakes.
The other thing I liked about it on my bike was the ability to switch it off so if I did want to piss around and stoppie or skid about, I could. Its not taking anything away from the riding experience, it's adding to it imo.
I had ABS for 2 years. Have any of you guys owned a bike with it on, or have you just tried it?

I don't want ABS or linked brakes, but the latest bikes systems seem to be a real boon to track riding, at least, and traction control seems a good idea.
I'm thinking that by the time I get old enough to need ABS the Parkinsons disease will have kicked in and the tremors of my brake hand will manage with a std setup.

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
