The only way to settle this is to do a vtr1000.org track day, but that'll be a nightmare to organise so I suggest we base it on a simple calculation which I will use at the next meet. (Tamworth)

number of (colour) bikes + 151 = Speed

So if 6 yellow bikes turn up and 4 black ones

6 + 151 = 157 Yellow
4 + 151 = 155 Black

Yellow wins in this instance :

Obviously green and magnet grey will be the slowest

You're all so mislead, lightning is yellow so therefore that is the fastest colour ;)

You must be seeing some funny lightning or looking at thorough a yellow tinted visor or even heavily nicotine stained windows.

Lightning is white, white is the colour we see when all the colours of the visible spectrum are together...

Now all this which colour is faster nonsense is just that nonsense.

Colour as we see it is just white light being reflected. Something white reflects all WAVELENGTHS of the visible spectrum, anything which has a colour as we perceive it is reflecting just that colours wavelength or a mix of wavelengths, whereas something black absorbs the whole spectrum & therefore no wavelengths are returned to our eyes.

This link shows wavelengths you will see that Violet has the shortest wavelength followed by blue, green, yellow, orange & red.

Ahh I hear all the blue boys saying so blue & yellow are faster than RED...

Phhhhht ! No it isn't these are wavelengths & only wavelengths all combined they make up white light & the speed of light is constant at 299792458 meters per second. (m/s)
As our speedometers don't read in m/s that works out to 299,792,458 mph...& none of our bikes are quite that fast.

At the end of the day a bike's speed, whatever it's colour depends on many factors...Atmospheric conditions, ambient temp, altitude above sea level, which way & how strong the wind is blowing, tire pressures & a host of other mechanical factors, the riders weight & how aerodynamic he can make himself & of course just how large the said riders cahonies are.

So unless you all want to post pictures up of of how large you testes are* then I think we can draw a line under this colour fascism once & for all from a purely scientific point of view. Of course if you all want to prove how fast your colour is then it's down to a meet up & a head to head, but if you do that, ride somewhere privately & don't kill yourselves trying to prove a point.

I expect someone with a higher level of scientific knowledge to come along & shoot this rant down very soon...bring it on.
