right ho chaps as my leo can is foobar and i dont have the money for the new set i want yet so i need to fit the standard setup .
i have standard exhausts (debaffled) standard headers and spare set of carbs and air box .
as i want to fit this lot whats the best setup i can get with these standard parts ?.
1, main jets
2,needle hight
3,mixtures
4, slides drilled/undrilled 1,2,3 holes ?
i will be getting it on the dyno but need a good base line setting first .

I can;t believe you need to ask. Are you feeling OK. Ribbit
178 rear 175 front mains
Standard needles or experiment with adjustable's
48 pilots
A/F start with 2.5 front and 2.1/4 rear
What stacks are you going to be running?

Here you go http://www.superhawkforum.com/forums/te ... -up-24769/ and yes I agree. This is what I have just done with Marty's bike. I didn't shim it quite as much though. 30 though on the rear and 20 on the front. Dont forget the standard needles are a slightly different length. They are not the same as in the US, but nether the the less, they are slightly different IIRC by about 3 thoug. You will have to measure them with a vernier guage. The longer one goes in the front.

So I don't jack the other thread.

According to Hawks set up you should block a hole in each slide if running the billet stacks.lloydie wrote:i blocked 2 in the front and one in the rear .cybercarl wrote:Lloyd did you block a lift hole in each slide as well?carbs set to hawks specs work great the frog feels more linear with the power delivery and I couldn't feel any flat spots .

i now have one in the front and two in the rear .

Re: stock carb + exhaust +air filter set up
You didn't believe me then
The other benefit with them both being equally the same is that when it comes to doing a carb balance both cylinders will rise equally the same.

i think i will order new slide springs and do both jobs at the same time .
how much were yours carl ?
Re: stock carb + exhaust +air filter set up
I cant remember exactly how much they where now. They where cheap though, something like £12 or something. The worst bit was waiting for them to arrive from the suppliers. I had to wait for the them to arrive from Holland. It was either David silvers or Wemoto where I ordered them from. New springs do make a difference, you will be surprised how much your old ones have shrunk over time.

Re: stock carb + exhaust +air filter set up
finished a little early tonight so after a 25 mile ride home in the rain
i blocked up one more hole in the rear slide and got the bike ready for a test ride tomorrow / later lol .
so carb settings now are
1 lift hole in both front and rear slides (for use with dr honda billet velocity stacks)
1 needle washer front
2 needle washers rear
2.25 turns out on front mixture
2,5 turns out on rear mixture
still standard main jets
48s slow/pilot jets .
