Got a Storm!

Post by Da Lipper »

Well i posted about a month ago that i was looking for a Firestorm and now i've finally got one!

Got a 1998 one in red with only 13,300 miles on the clock.

It is standard apart from a matching bellypan and rear hugger, in very good condition with only a small crack on the fairing just under the mirror.
The regulator/rectifier has been changed but the CCT's haven't been changed to manuals yet' but i have ordered a set of Kriegers from America.

I'm not a fan of the bellypan so that has been removed and i'm looking for the standard small grey cowl.
Also would like a set of louder cans, the standard ones are just too quiet, any reccommendations on which type of cans to get?

Got the bike from Allsport Bikes in Castleford, very nice honest guy to deal with. Only spoke to him on the phone, but got my mate who stays in Leicester to travel up to Castleford and have a look over the bike for me.

Had the bike a week now but only been out on it twice, as i'm afraid to use it till i get the CCT's done. :D

Nice avatar looks very clean. Cancel that CCT order if you can otherwise you will get hit with customs :eek2 you can order them from the european Kreiger distributor.

As for cans it's personal preference. Don't rush into anything, do your research, keep you eye on ebay for used ones. £200 will get you a good set. And have a listen to as many different ones as you can first, preferably in the flesh and not video clips.

Hi there & welcome  Are you intending to do the CCT's yourself? If you do take your time & keep a log of pipe & cable routing.

As for cans why not do a beffelectomy on the standard exhausts they will then give off a very nice sound without being ott like race cans and they will still pass a mot .
