Getting used to it now.......

Well, it's been a month since got my VTR, and after 10 years of riding il4's plus 3 year break from bikes. It's all good.
Last weekend being bit pants on the weather front, thought i'd have a poke about the old girl, and see what has/hasn't been done too her?
CCT'S and Reg/Rectifier have been sorted.On looking though the pages and pages of stuff on here came across PAIR SYSTEM REMOVAL. Think this has been done (see pics ) Also does anyone know what make of air filter this is ( see pics ) bike has got K&N sticker on but can't see any markings on it to say this is ?? Any thought ideas welcomed....... Winter time suspension and linkages to be sorted....

Also made tank stay long enough to get filter out, without any probs

Not sure on make of air filter but its the same as mine so am presuming its standard Honda filter

Yes it does look like a stock air filter

air filter looks like a hi-flo jobby, i don't know if they're any good tho.
what year is your bike, only the late model 2001 onwards had the pairs system, maybe some euro/import bikes had it aswell.
a pre 2001 early model hasn't got it.

It's a 2000, see everyday is like a school day ya learn something everyday.... So i've been told

yeh it looks like one of those hi flo filter which are slimier to the standard filter in the sense of it is not re-usable and does not require any oil.

Are they any good ?? or should i just stick standard filter in ??

i'd just stick a standard one in, peel off the k&n sticker aswell....
if the bike a 2000 model it wouldn't have pairs, maybe the owner bought the kit thinking they needed it?

The hiflo air filter is a generic copy of the standard one so basically its the same just cheaper .

That'll do me nicely........Have to say they do sound nice compared too the il4's
