Centre jack/lifter
Anyone know of a stand/lifter that will support under the sump allowing swingarm removal? I saw mention of one but can't remember whereabout it was and a search today hasn't turned anything up, I'm at the point of towel on ground and laying the bike down to do the necessary work if thats what it takes

Re: Centre jack/lifter
a number of options
1) an ABBA stand mounted on the rear engine bolt rather than swingarm
2) a bar under the rear subframe infront of teh pillion pegs
3) ratchet straps from subframe to a beam or hook in the roof
4) use a ladder as an A frame and ratchet straps like above.
remember to slacken all bolts before you take wheels off and suspend the patient

As Al said lots of options all of which will be better than laying it on its side...You have to pick it back up for a start !
I use two ratchet straps over a beam hooking on to the hooks on the subframe, had mine suspended like that for over a week with no problems. IIrc I had it on a trolley jack as well... Weight on the jack, straps for safety.
You can just jack it up with a trolley jack under the sump but it will NOT be stable, you will still have to tie it off to a beam in case it falls off the jack !
Wicky will be along shortly to show off his gallows...

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Abba stand is the one I'd read about previously so cheers, some great answers here and I enjoy the humour shared
I can't tie anything to a roof because I don't have a garage, the pic of the bikes is where I work on them as well, although the Magna may be going now as I'm single, I haven't decided yet
I'll see if I can't get hold of an Abba before payday

Nottingham area, I appreciate any offers but as I'm waiting on the linkage to arrive (Friday hopefully) I'm not in any rush and Its always better to have the kit myself for future modding/servicing use
