Quick Action throttle???????

Post by brokenlegs »

Quick action throttle, anyone know if anyone does one for the storm at sensible money?

I have heard that a modified blade one is better but i cant find the damb article i was reading it from now gggrrrrrrr.........................

I know i need stronger wrists LMAO  but really i do like quick action throttles like they have ducati's etc. I have a duke one but it doesnt have a return cable plus the cable end is completely different.

Got any ides's

Mark.

I'm wondering if the HRC one off a CBR600 would do, I had to replace the HRC one on my race bike, was about £50-60 i think for the housing and throttle tube, however it used a different "A" cable and you had to modify the "b" cable end with a file.

I think it could be a lot of hassle unless you can find someone who makes an aftermarket setup which uses the existing cables.

Good news MArk,

The solution is available, simple and CHEAP

Fit the throttle tube from an RC45

I did this on mine about 4 years ago and it cost me £8 from David Silver including grip as well

Its 10% bigger but if you've got enough adjustment in your throttle cable (bar end) you can do it without even removing the tank

If you need any more info, drop me a line

I actually asked for the throttle tube and grip from a VFR 750 [duh] instead of the RVF. 750 .. and kieth at D>S corrected me.. so someone there knows his stuff ..

Fitted the throttle tube a couple of weeks ago(just before the forum went down)
Easy to fit, I took the R/H clip on off and slid the tube off and with a bit of wiggling I managed to change it without slackening the cables off at the bottom end.
Still got to give it a road test but weather permitting will do so this weekend when I take bike for an MOT.If its as good as said on here there will be plenty of :D :D :D :D

You ain't wrong :D :D :D 8O 8)
Took bike out today for MOT(passed with loud pipes 8) )
Well worth £16 to do it, feels like a power boost without being like an on/off switch.
If you ain't done it yet then do it! :D
