Re: testing sig image
This isn't working...

Re: testing sig image
Soo.... How about now then?
Re: testing sig image
Apparently phpbb cant rezise images at all...
PITA if you ask me... But oh well...

Re: testing sig image
Images are hosted off site so can be re-sized beforehand. Well if Photobucket they tend to get re-sized first. If imageshack then they get resized as the page loads which seriously slows down the page load time here. I have had to avoid threads where someone has posted too many pics from imageshack.
There's nothing wrong with your first test Markus. The small thumbnail with link works in the signature. The only issue I have with it, is that once the link has taken one to your wild thinking
page, one gets locked into that and the browser back button becomes disabled. So best to open the link in new window.

HEY YOU GUYS!!!!!!
Re: testing sig image
Well... The point was that I wanted to avoid having to create a thumbnail... But then again, one thumbnail in a forgotten folder won't be that bad...
Fair enough, new window it is...

Re: testing sig image
Aaaand we are back to phpbb's limitations... Can't set the option to make the link open in another window... Bugger...
Re: testing sig image
The getting trapped on your webpage that disables the browser back button is to do with something on your side. I suspect it's something to do with the javascript for your gallery. It probably has no page reload script within it which effects the way ones browser registers history therefore ones browser gets confused as to where it has been or wants to go next. Hope that kind of makes sense.
It's not your fault (unless you wrote the code
) it's just down to bad javascript and there is not a lot you can do about it. It's just a pain in the back end. It's OK when one has visited the site before because one can then just open in a new browser window in future to get around that quirk. Some sites will do it maliciously to get one stuck on their site, a sort of marketing ploy. One of the webs little annoyances.

Re: testing sig image
Can you manually add the necessary code in your sig?
Code: Select all
<a href="http://www.yoururl.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://yoururl.com/yourimage.jpg" />
