Petrol tank pivot bolt...? Replacement needed!

Post by Jamoi »

As above, it must be my super human strength... :-D

Do you know where I can get an un-broken replacement??

Maybe I should have posted this in the new "torque wrentch" thread... :-(

Is that the long bolt that runs through the back of the tank - 10mm IIRC

How on earth did you manage to break that?? should be undo nut and push through & out?

Bookmark for reference this page: http://www.ronayers.com/VTR1000F-C24473.aspx (its for the US Superhawk but 95% of the parts are identical)

Tank is here with Honda part no.s Copy part no. http://www.ronayers.com/FUEL-TANK-C212277.aspx

Paste into http://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/part ... rt-number/ to see if they have it

Wicky, I'd be lost without you mate  thanks a million. Now I can follow the same procedure in the future. I hope the cricket isn't too soggy atm!

Eamonn, thank you kindly for your offer, I have got a bit of threaded rod with a nyloc nut either end, seems to be ok for now, but I will order the 10mm bolt from DSS. I rode through Clare for the first time last weekend, very nice there

Regards
