And a petrol gauge

That's still good mileage given that the bike is carrying as much chrome & lights as a Chicano 70's Cadillac!!cybercarl wrote:Don't forget you have a 19l tanksure mine does about 150
it's just about empty now so i'll stick a full tank in when its dry![]()

isnt that a bit of an old wives tale. as it will never pick up a certain amount of fuel left in the tank as it doesnt completly drain the tank from the position of the fuel tap + there is a filter in it.cybercarl wrote:16l tankI have done 10miles when the light has come on but I haven't pushed it any further. I generally fill up as soon as I can once the light comes on. Also I don't like to run tanks too low or they may bring crap up from the bottom of the tank into the carbs.

Well the day after I got my license and bike, I rode to a friends' house as he was curious to see my bike for a the first time and he was thinking of getting the bandit, which is practically the same bike anyway. It started fine at 8am, but when I got to theirs and turned the engine off it wouldn't start again as some old fuel had clogged up and blocked the pipe.. Doesn't sound like my bike has a filter then, but if it does then you never know ;)cybercarl wrote:You could be right there as there is a filter in the tank so unless it is broken then that should stop anything. It's an old habit I have kept from years ago.
