hi and welcome mate
im shore i read some were that the car/bike the plate is coming of has to have mot :roll: it has been disgust on here in the last week or so :confused

Yes, that is correct, ordinarily the donor vehicle must have a current MoT.

However in this case, as the bike was stolen, it just needs to have been MoT'd at the time of the theft - which it was. Also need confirmation from the insurance company that they have no interest in the plate - which I have in writing. I visited my local DVLA office a few weeks ago and they confirmed that all was ok for me to transfer the plate to another vehicle.

TBH there hasn't been a great deal of interest from the three VTR forums I've posted on (and an unusual amount of unpleasant comments from a mainly US one), so it looks like I'll have to give the masses their turn on ebay, or just put it on my next bike - which would be a bit silly if it was a CG125!
