Hi guys, just a quickly as I'm not looking to get ripped off.
I'm sourcing 2 tyres for my new bike but scrubbed to get me going just now.
What is a reasonable charge at a garage for swapping them over
Front is usual 120-70-17 but rear is190-50-17

Re: Fitting prices
The place I had mine done last week was £15 each wheel
Re: Fitting prices
Free fitting if you took the wheels in off the bike.
Re: Fitting prices
Their tyres must be a little more expensive then. As tyre fitting and balancing is where these places make their money as there's no profit in selling tyres.Free fitting if you took the wheels in off the bike.

Re: Fitting prices
in central london its £20 a wheel, thats taking off and disposing of the old tyre, fitting the new one and balancing it, i think they're going to start charging extra to put air in them soon.........
i do know someone that'll do a pair of £30 without balancing, and i have a contact in the trade that do mine for a fiver.....

Re: Fitting prices
I invested £3 for 3 tyre levers from the pound shop and £5 for 3 rim protectors from the bay of evil.
I then made a version of the Abba bead breaker out of old box section and a threaded rod I had lying around and also a wheel balancer out of metal with skateboard wheel bearings(again similar to the Abba balancer)
I now do my own tyres, cost = zero satisfaction = loads.
