Clear indicators etc.

Post by philsmith »

Hello all,

Does anyone have clear indicators fitted?
I think my blue firestorm would look great with them fitted.
Does anyone know where I can get them, or even just clear lenses?

I tried MPS but they stopped getting them 'cause they wern't fitting uk bikes properly!'

Thanx for any info
Phil.

Cheers, I'll give em a try, although I may end up having to replace with mini ones.

I was in Halfords today and noticed they had quite a few indicators for cars with blue tinted lenses. It shouldn't take much to get them to fit your bike

 Halfords don't seem to have anything even vaguely relevant in York, blue tint bulbs though!

Not to worry, I'll keep searching 8)

If you get the lenses from Busters be careful you buy the right size. I bought some cats eyes and they did not fit well. I ended up taking them off. While taking them off they virtually fell apart.

Although other guys have had no problems with them :?

Clear indicators

Castle Motorcycles in Castleford will do you some.
Got me a pair of mini-stalk indicators with clear lens, and a pair of flush fit with clear lenses for the front(incidentally they do look well on a 'blue ' storm).

clear indicators on blue vtr

Post by philm »

Hi Phil
re the clear indicators,I purchased some not so long ago for my new
VTR here in Perth W.A. I have a blue VTR and if I can attach a Photo to this post you can see they look pretty damn good! The brand name of my
clear indicators is M.C.S. Not sure if they are available in the U.K.
The only snag i hit was in the fitting.Funningly enough the opposing front
and rear lenses fitted perfectly but the other two had to be fiddled with.
i.e. there is a half moon shaped bit of plastic that when the lense and body
of the indicator meet they lock together, however on the opposing two had the half moon shape on the same plane so to speak so I had to carefully
cut the raised half moon shape off and then screw the two pieces together,
that is the lense and the main indicator body!Still fits perfectly so no further drama.
If you havent been successful in obtaining a set in the U.K.I could buy them here and possibly post them to you if you like.
Let me know.
Regards Phil
p.s.at this time I cant attach the image/will keep trying

clear indicators/request for pictures

Post by philm »

Attn philsmith[phil]
finally got my act together and uploaded some pics of my Vtr
Still on a learning curve with regards to sending pics to a website etc
You will find the pics in the misc. section of the Gallery.
this is bearing in mind only clear lenses on the original indicator body
with the orange globe installed.I also bought some iridium indicators but
backed off when i found you had to cut into the wiring harness to get them
to work.Would rather keep things like that as they are meant to be.So I went for just the ordinary clear lenses as pictured.
Regards Phil
P.s. you lucky devil you, being able to go to the Isle of Man TT
What I wouldnt give to be able to get there!

Excellent photo's phil,

I have my front clear mini indicators on (the big hole they fit through doesn't look too bad), started to rain bad yesterday (& am too much of a girl!) so didn't bother doing the rear ones.

I agree about not hacking up the original wiring loom if poss (mine just plugged straight in)

Bit of a long journey for you to make it to the TT!!! 8O Shame though.

Well done on the upload
Phil.

(can't even split us by Blue vtr Phil!!)
