New sleeker look

Post by Anotherbikerbabe »

Got my Renegade pipes from Agent /P so took them out for a test ride to see if hubby could see arrow indis from behind.. he said he could hardly see them.. I'd just take them off but being the loving caring husband he is,and I love him for it :P , he is very wary of others on the road (often been caught 'disciplining' one or 3 :Argue: and takes my safety seriously.. So, he said he's gonna lift then slightly and mod a bit of fiddling to put the arrows right at bottom of the plate through..That way, you should see them under the cans.. Job done..for now..Dave will get them slightly higher, he's good.. I always have a job or 4 up my sleeve as I know how much Dave loves doing work on the bikes. I'm now thinking of a highly polished swing arm  :biggrin

Looking good considering they aint 'stubbies'

about a month ago I went for thrash around with my cousin and his son-in law. the son in law has a blade on a w plate the same as my storm and my cousin has a zx10 which he bought as a wreck and has made it into a bit of a custom road bike. (I wont say streetfighter cos I don't think that's allowed  )
anyways he,s got very thin indicators built in the undertray and whilst they look sleek they are pretty sh1t when following and trying not to run up the back of him
it did make me realise how important signals are.
I think your pipes look very nice though ABB.

Knock up a pair of braced swingarms for them. Fills the gap under the cans nicely
PS this is obviously directed toward your other half!

Cheers guys and yes Jamie, bit of highly polished swing arm is now on the cards and this week I'll be sat now wit ha little nail brush gettign in all the nooks and crannies washing and blinging for Sat n Op Storm and yeah lumpy, those aren't the only rear indicators I have, I have always had, on this bike and my old one, a built in rear brake/indicator unit as a oner, the arrows are belt and braces as I also have 4 indicators on the front, two minis and one on each mirror... Safety aint a dirty word as my Dave would say.. He is very protective though when he rides with me and if he is worried, he'll change it... bless, got to love him and god yeah, direct as much intel to him as you like ..I watch, make tea and learn!  I have changed my front pads which I was dead chuffed about lol. but I do pay attention and try to understand so I can explain things to someone else if they ask.
Dave's ok though, cos we bought Bennys old Swing arm and it's been painted black! so it won't look as grubby as mine needing a good polishing.. 'Shauneds' swing arm is mega bling highly mirror polished and I want mine like that now I've seen it :cool2

Where's the pictures then....

Indicators are a real pain when the can outlet is in the way. It's something I need to do something about shortly. Once I have done my exhaust, I think it's time for a tail tidy and some nice LED indi's.

This is a pretty cool idea where there is no space.

I bought as soon as I bought the bike off Marravtr as had one on my old bike as playerone will testify as that over 3 yrs ago now and they cost around £69 on ebay. I don't have any photos of the rear unit when the indicator is actually on (but can get one if you want to see, but they are on ebay from mini ha ha spares ..It is smoked where dave has the same unit but his is clear, i didn't realise when buying them, no matter like but it does work but doesn't have the little strip above like on this photo, it is all just in the unit, the guy who does our mots said it was fine to do mot without disconnecting the unit as he knows we are knob jockies hooning it around town!

Well, the master did...I watched/learnt/made tea..
But now even though I have built in indicators into the rear brake unit, dave likes me to have the arrows on too, hence the arrows being above the cans but he said once he fitted the high levels, riding behind me you can hardly see the arrow indis now due to the high level cans so he is gonna move the cans up slightly further and try to mod the arrows through the bottom of the plate that hold the number plate and slot them under the cans, so more visible for road users... Sorry for confusing you..
