in the uk it wasn't until the later model came out in 2002 that we got the pairs system, not sure about you guys in north america tho, also when we say baffles we mean, a noise restrictor inside of or in the end of the exhaust end can(silencer).
have a good reed thru the workshop knowledge base buddy, all of the answers are in there....

lan to purchase jet kit over winter, just not sure as to what stage will be required. If i had to guess, between the pipes and air filter, a stage 3 would be recommended
Any stage you want to call it. A jet is a jet whatever it's labelled as. Don't get caught up in all the marketing bullshit.

Hi, Junking the Pair system. I flipped the reed valves and blanked everything off with bolts zip tied in the end of short hoses, only pops back occasionally now

Well I just pulled it all apart tonight only to realize the carb pairing was previously removed. Yay for me.

Used to ski on Panorama Mountain :p (far cheaper than the likes of Lake Louise or Whistler) Alberta and I hired a car and drove right up to Jasper through the Rockies and thought OMFG. .Wish I could ride this road..Went through Athabasca Falls down Highway 93 Jasper National Park, and back down again cpl of days later..well jealous of your location!! Enjoy your bike on some of those amazing roads!

Im not too sure what we have here available for a dyno. To be honest, I havent even opened the air box to confirm it is a KN filter. Just basing that on what previous owner told me. Being it is the end of August, riding season is almost over. Plan to purchase jet kit over winter, just not sure as to what stage will be required. If i had to guess, between the pipes and air filter, a stage 3 would be recommended. But no way to tell till I pick one and start.

I will do TPS sensor mod, but going in kinda blind. Its hard to mod something until u know how it works. This bike is carbed, so it's not being run by a computer, can anybody explain a lil bit more indepth as to what changing the values does exactly ?

As Lloydie said, a dyno run would tell you a lot. I take it you are referring to the baffles when you mention silencers :?: they are the short things that go in the end of the silencers to quieten it down (or cans as the silencers are also know as).

Balancing the carbs is also another thing that could help on the cutting out bit, especially if that's not been done for a while.

Chris.
Exactly, baffles. We call them silencers.

welcome from me to

Canada is my number one "if I could live anywhere it would be ...." place. I was stunned from watching Bowling for Columbine that people tend not to lock their doors at all, is that really the case????
