Hazard lights

Post by VTRdH »

Just started to make some hazardlights on one of the VTR's
Lookin'for a good place to fit them. this is first attempt, built led's into fairing.
Other option to use mirror's with built in leds is better i guess
Made small video :-)

Switch is on the yoke , mounted with VELCRO. Power comes directly from battery, you can switch on /off and choose between 3 different flash types.
Switchbox is aprox. 3 x 5 cm.
I put them earlier on my blue VTR behind the blue windscreen, looked like a policebike :D :D :D
Now i want the leds replaced by led's in mirror, that's better.
I think more color's available.

i thought you were mounting them in the air vents?
i might be after a similar kit in the near future, as carl said tho, i'd want blue or white bulbs.....
and i'd wire them into my headlight flash button, so they wouldn't be easily detected..... :shh:
how much was the kit rob?

I had them in the airvents, but didn't work out the way i wanted, therefor i will use the unit on mirrors with intergrated led's.
This unit was delivered with 4 leds and a controlunit, i will make picture of it.
Originally used in cars.I have sold similar unit for € 25,= (looks a fair price to me)

can you get different coloured bulbs?
also, what about drilling into the back of the headlight and mounting them in the top corner of the headlight?
thats what i plan to do, although it does depend on the size of the bulb.

I will come back to you with dimensions of bulbs.
I have to ask about the colors, so be a bit patient :-)

GSXR Mirrors would work well. Chop the base mount off and cut the end of the stem so it's a half moon shape like the end of Richards mirror extenders. Take an extender and drill a hole down through it (so hollowed out) for wiring and than you can mount them on the Storm mount. So basically use the mirror extenders as you mount

if i remember rightly when i mounted punto repeat indi's in the air vents it stopped the airflow to the top of the rads and it ran very hot...be careful how you mount them and the size of lamp you use in there...
