That sounds ridiculously expensive....you could buy a new engine from e-bay for £300 and have it fitted for about the same again.
What a rip off.

Are you going to try fitting the manual CCTs yourself?

Can Tweety recommend anyone?
It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

£450 to replace the CCTs??? :wtf: :wtf: :wtf:

I bet I could get return flights out there, change your CCTs and a night in a hotel for less than that....

mate, there is a step by step guide on here how to change them, with pictures. you need to be completely blind not to be able to do them. Always ask here first before you let a mechanic do anything to your storm. I bet there is more wisdom and experience regarding every aspect of the storm on here than you can find in any motorcycle garage

If the bike is running but you just have this sound, can you upload a video of it.

You should have come to the UK to buy the bike unless they sting you on import duties & changing the registration over

Haynes manual, and take your time. This is when you learn how to work on the bike yourself, it's how we all start.

The bike is off the road, so there is nothing stopping you learning how to strip it down and sort it yourself for the cost of the bits. Plenty of people on here will help and advise.
Budget storm gradually on the road to spangliness.

Oh those where the days.

Better still download the Honda workshop manual from the following:

Just dont use that manual for setting up the tensioners as it is flawed. Use the knowledge-base on this forum. As long as you have a decent socket set, screwdriver set including extended posi drives & an allen key set you should be able to get to most places. Take loads of photos, helps with wiring & pipe routing & lay the parts out in a chronological order, this will make reassembly easier. Above all use us if you get stuck.
