New VTR guy
New VTR guy on this site ;-)
Hi !
I'm French, 32 years old and i have a 2001 VTR bought new the same year.
I've ridden it 26000 kms.
Some mods :
- FZ1S mirrors
- Stainless brake lines
- EBC HH Pads
- Sigma speedo
- Hyperpro springs
- EMC rear shock
I used to go to track with an Aprilia RSV 1000. Much more power / much more braking power but not as good as VTR for road use my taste.
So I keep these 2 V-Twin bikes in my garage ;-)
I've tested 4-cylinder bikes :
road use : XJS 600 (poor power, chassis ), FZS 600 : fun for road use
track use : 600 Hornet "roadster cup" : takes lots of revs, easy to ride !
But definetely love "monster torque" of V-twin 1000 bikes !
:-)

Welcome Roadrunner ! I used to use that name too once upon a time ago !
Plenty of friendly advice and banter on here ! If you ever get stuck just ask or if you want a quick answer then use the search function cos most tech probs, etc have been covered one time or another.
Stu. Live long and prosper !

Bienvenue au site premier du monde de Firestorm!
Sorry for the bad French, my wife speaks it better, but then she is French! I have a place in Provence near some magnifique biking roads. Olivier, VTR rider from Laval has visited us there. We don't hear much from Oliv on this site these days as he has found a French VTR site which he finds easier to understand.
Mind you, with the quality of English here, even I find it hard to understand sometimes
