Steering head adjystment torque

Post by Storm Trooper »

Would anybody on here have the Steering Stem socket they could possibly lend me before Fri. Have installed new head bearings and heading on a west coast Scotland run on Fri and Sat and although I have tightened them to what I think is ok, I would like to set to the right torque

Cheers

did you fit tapers or standard. if you fitted tapers DO NOT set to handbook torque it will feel terrible.........I have a post in the workshop knowledge base that will tell you how to set tapers............they are very sensitive.

if the are standard, then you can use a C-spanner or any old drift, they are not so sensitive to overtightening
