caliper overhaul

Post by Ckennedy »

I am wanting to do a full overhaul on my calipers. Good clean, new seals sect but looking around there are so many different places selling seals at so many different prices.

What are your recommendations for where to buy the parts required? Needs to include the bleed nippes as one of mine has about had it

Try David Silver Spares, Lings or Wemoto.

or send em to Jonesey.
It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

I recently did mine, got them apart, they were well manky, and pistons were sticking, but when I cleaned the gunk off, the seals were perfect underneath. They are quite tough you know, you might not need any.

Same for me difference is unbelievable in they way they proform now, very overlooked topic as people quest for power mods, it's only ever discussed by Jonesey now know why he's so keen on brake maintenance, it's night and day from what it was

Going to do the valve shims and brake rebuild on my dads blade over the winter along with anything else that needs doing like radiator coolent and a general service
