Fork Rebuild - Any Recommendations?

Post by Mav617 »

Looking to send my forks off for a rebuild with new seals, heavier oil etc. Anyone recommend who I should give my hard-earned to?

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Ah, I did look Roger D up in the members list before I posted, but not knowing if he did it for a living made me feel a bit cheeky so thanks for the link.

If your budget doesn't stretch to Roger, then Hyperpro spring and oil kit is a big improvement for about £100.
Not as good as a Rogered set, but hey.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Couldn`t fault Daves service. £100 for a complete strip, full inspection and rebuild with new seals and 5wt oil. He also replaced the dust seals as they were perished (at an extra cost to the basic fork service) but was sure to phone first and ask if I wanted them done, so no nasty surprises on cost
Gets a big  from me. Happy to recommend his services.

Sounds good to me, what fork oil do people go for? Is 5wt the standard?
