Well, I've ordered a mosfet one from the states. When it turns up, I'll put stone pics of my fitting attempts in my pimping thread.

Re: yet another reg/rec question
So original unfinned ones are crap
Some of the R1 alternatives are also crap?!
MOSFET ones are expensive!
Is a 2006 CBR125 finned version a best cheaper/alternative replacement? Am I right thinking this is just a plug and play replacement with same connection and ability to use original bolt holes?

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Re: yet another reg/rec question
One thing I would do is cut the connector block off and heatshrink/ solder the wires. Every Honda I have had has cooked the 3 pin connector, which is why I think the regulators fail, the bad connection heats up the r/r and the 3 pin plug.
Re: yet another reg/rec question
If you want straight plug n play....yes. But as rollingthuder mentioned the plugs are not all that. I would be tempted to use an R1 R/R, at least it has a larger surface area to dissipate heat and there's just as much of a risk as failing as any other Non Mosfet R/R.Is a 2006 CBR125 finned version a best cheaper/alternative replacement?
