Front Wheel Spindle - Stuck!

Post by Mav617 »

Hi guys,

Back wheel out no problem - but I can't get the front wheel spindle out beyond around an inch. What am I doing wrong here? Pinch bolts unscrewed, threaded nut removed, screwdriver in spindle and turning whilst trying to pull and can't shift it.

Can I put anything in the other side and belt it?

Use a hammer and a suitable drift to knock it out.

If your hitting it that hard then stick a bit of timber between it and the hammer. It's probably the outer part of the shaft stuck in the fork lower on the side with the hole for a screwdriver or whatever. Once you get that much out the rest should follow easily.

Spot on Carl, put the spindle back through, screwed nut part on, couple of taps, removed nut and pulled/twisted and once the outer came through it slid out. Now for tyre fitting, lovely new Maxxis
