Its a coating a lot of jap manufacturers use the only way to get it off is with caustic soda, i usually dip small parts but cant with a frame so just using a brush and doing small sections at a time.
i will be doing the whole frame eventually will post how i do the rough cast bits.
This was my ZX9R i did
