Bike Suports and lifts?

Post by Moocher »

Not long had the bike and planning winter big clean.

I will probably be removing wheels, forks and maybe rear end.
So rear paddock and front fork stands are maybe not going to do the trick

What supports should I get?

Can the sump take the weight of the bike?

I see the Haynes manual suggests a wooden frame to support the crankcases which I can knock together and maybe then use my cruiser lift to jack the bike up using this?

Comments and suggestions please.

Abba stand all the way for me.

Here's some links to help you. Abba stand is perfect as it can be adapted easily to mount off the engine mount rather than the swingarm.

I have a new toy- it's a small hoist for people moving and handling, but will do the trick perfectly.
Similar to this but older....

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

With the exhausts off the bike can be lowered off the paddock stands onto a pile of bricks under the sump. Try and loosen all the main bolts like the axles and swingarm before getting it balanced on the sump, but you will find it quite stable

That looks like a useful tool mate. Similar to the engine cranes they use in the auto industry. Any more coming up in the future?

Sorry, I had the one from our local training room- we're consolidating two training centres into just one, so had a spare.

I have a spare Zimmer frame?
