hi all i changed the cct today for the manual ones but i have put the bike back together and its idling a bit high i got the timing spot on i checked it about 10 crank revolutions so i no its not that, i did however take the choke cables out of the carb would this of matterd? do the carbs need setting up once removed? all i can think of is i have not inserted them properly back into the holes , but if the chokes open for a long period of time say like 5 miles (which i rode it) and i come to a stop wouldn't the bike cut out and not idle still at 1.5K - 2k.
sorry for sounding dumb lol

Re: changed cct
It may be that the choke cables, where they join into the black cylindrical cable junction box beneath the carbs has been pulled and the ends aren't sitting properly, meaning that the choke is permanently on.
Unless you've bashed the carbs about you shouldn't have a higher tickover.
But why on earth would you take the choke cables out in order to change CCT's?

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
Re: changed cct
ive just seen in the sticky the choke cable for the rear cylinder is being routed above the carbs i have gone underneath, i took the cable out of the carbs because i thought thats the way to do it ( i didnt have the laptop with me at the time
) i will strip it tomorrow to see if its snaged on something and move it to the correct position.
thanks.

thanks.

Re: changed cct
That may be affecting it as IIRC running the cable the other way (underneath) puts more strain on it, so it's like running with the choke on slightly. Also make sure you have the cable on the right way around as well. Note the front carb cable is shorter than the rear. It is possible to get them the wrong way around if running the rear cable underneath and between the carbs.
Be careful with those little Black Plastic choke nuts they snap real easy. If ever undoing or tightening them it's best to peel the rubber cover (where the 45degree bend is) off the lip of the nut. This then allows you to spin the nut more freely and takes some pressure off of it. It's a lot easier undoing the cable at the frame bracket.

Re: changed cct
Managed to free the cables but it's still doing it , it's very hesitant when I open it up but will rev all the way up the rev range, is there any thing else this could be?
Thanks
