I need to get another r/r I have my old original one laying round which I think charges ok. Will have to try it just for testing things out. It won't be ideal but will have to do for now. So I need to get another fined one but as its winter now the bike won't be getting used as much so there's time.

Well today I set about testing my theory with the power surge tripping out my heated grips and possibly blowing my headlight but after trying the old r/r and found that was under charging I put the cheap Chinese one back on. Then y heated grips stopped tripping out and I did not get a power surge when bringing up the revs slowly or winding the throttle all the way open. So the only thing I really achieved was creaming my pants at the noise   but I also know thast a power surge isn't causing my problems. Back to square one.

Ah, you've fixed it then.
Well done.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
