Is it the starter solenoid on the left hand side. If that only clicks when you try and turn it over then sounds like your battery is getting flat. You'll need a jump start or a bump start (fun in the wet!). If you suspect its more of a bag of nails noise then DON'T start it and get immediate help.
It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Click was me being stupid. I pulled the spark plug lead to check for water, there was none. I stuck it back in. I got paranoid and pulled it out to make sure it was in properly, but forget to stick it in. Hence clicking sound. Plugged it in and it vanished, rode it to Al's with no problem (held the throttle at 1500rpm whenever the clutch was pulled in) and had the stopper mod done. Bike is now fine, CCT's weren't the issue at all it seems. I've just learnt how paranoid and protective of this bike I can be.

Massive thanks to Al  a reminder of why I love this forum, and that good people still exist when you look in the right places ( such as this forum  ). Thanks everyone for helping out too :)

Not until it's unrestricted  Aha. I was enjoying it beforehand, but now I have a legitimate excuse though to try out that top speed run I've been worried about doing until now :?

So what was the issue then. Why the cutting out? Good to hear that the stopper has been done at long last. Well done Al  I was starting to get paranoid for YMV

HE'S BACK EVERYONE.

No idea Carl, it still does it occasionally on the new spark plugs and air filter. I'm guessing it's the TPS so I'll have a look at that sometime when I can be bothered to strip the bike down, will probably be around the same time I fit my new throttle.. So sometime next month

Yep you don't get rid of me that easy.
And it's done it twice since I left work. Each time I stopped at a junction. Did it 3 times this morning. Other than that it hasn't happened.
Is only after heavy braking.

Nah, it does it while stationary even if I haven't moved recently. It does do it after heavy braking as well though, I'll check that link out. I'm fed up of cutting out at my favourite roundabout

When it was doing it constantly on Wednesday it was doing it even if I hadn't moved, it just didn't want to stay turning over for more than 40 seconds. I dunno why, it's lessened down now though

No idea about carbs but TPS isn't set up, it's on my to-do list. It's a long list, unfortunately  Just give me a date when you're free and I'll see what I can do

And the idle is too low, I was going to raise it up 300rpm but I forgot
