Oops my mistake, I don't know why I thought your cans were Scorpions, but even so the same principle could apply to other makes. I'm guessing it'll be the cheapest can's that won't be tested properly with a dyno before going into production.leevtr wrote:I'm guessing by that statement you think they're Scorpions, but they are in fact Motad Venom pipes, and they came on the bike. Bike seems to run fine with them, ( backside dyno anyway ), and I know any adjustments could change things. Tbh though, If it were to bugger up the way it ran, I'd just fit a dybojet kit, and if that wasnt enough then get some other cans when funds allow. I think spending loads on dyno time with these bikes is like setting fire to the cash. From experience a decent branded can and stage 1 dj kit and theyre as good as there.sirch345 wrote:The only reason not to shorten the link pipes I can think of, is that Scorpion apparently design their cans to work with a standard set up. So by shortening the exhaust length you will be changing the fueling. Unless of course you are planning on rejetting the carbs and/or changing the air filter then getting it set up properly on a dyno, in which case forget what I have just said![]()
Chris.
As for the clearance issue Lloydie, good shout, but they are fairly upswept compared to standard, so I dont think it will be an issue ( will double check though )
Edit...Just looked at the pic again, and they will be close wont they.
