Re: R/R QUESTION
Hi Mark, Rather odd, did you remember to put the earth lead back under one of the rectifier fixing bolts
What's the voltage output like with the new rectifier, it should be reading between 13.5 and 15.5 volts with the engine running at the battery terminals. May be you old rectifier has damaged the battery if it failed on you.
Chris.

Re: R/R QUESTION
Mark, I'm assuming the replacement one was the same fitting as the original, you just unplugged the old one and plugged in the replacement rectifier, so no chance of getting any wires mixed up.
I would see what voltage you are getting at the battery terminals (if you haven't got a multi-meter perhaps you could borrow one) as I mentioned above.

Thanks chris will check voltage tomorrow.sirch345 wrote:Mark, I'm assuming the replacement one was the same fitting as the original, you just unplugged the old one and plugged in the replacement rectifier, so no chance of getting any wires mixed up.

Re: R/R QUESTION
Hi chris checked voltage today 13.5 on bat bike not running 14.6 when running on both rr's may be ok so see how it goes for now as for idle speeds differing still a mystery maybe motor still cold any old how thanks for input .sirch345 wrote:Mark, I'm assuming the replacement one was the same fitting as the original, you just unplugged the old one and plugged in the replacement rectifier, so no chance of getting any wires mixed up.

Re: R/R QUESTION
Your Voltages seem good so maybe the idle being lower is just a coincidence and there is something else going on. To be honest if the engine is cold then it's normal for it to be a bit lower until the engine is fully warmed up. Once fully warm the idle speed should be around 1200rpm. You can adjust the idle speed via a black knurled knob on the front carb. You can access this with your fingers through the frame on the right hand side of the bike.

Re: R/R QUESTION
Hi Mark, A good idea trying the old rectifier as well as the replacement. I agree with Carl, there doesn't seem to be a problem with the rectifier at those readings. Yes a good idea to keep an eye on it.magnum wrote: Hi chris checked voltage today 13.5 on bat bike not running 14.6 when running on both rr's may be ok so see how it goes for now as for idle speeds differing still a mystery maybe motor still cold any old how thanks for input .
