Thanks for the welcomes everyone. I think I've found a nice one cheep, it's a fair distance away so it may be after new year before I can pick it up, but hoping to confirm it's going to be mine and pay a deposit tonight. Fingers crossed eh!
Thanks, the one I've found didn't sell on there last week. It's a 2001 model, clean with new cans and a few bits done on it. 28000 miles, I've got him down to £1120.
Check out things like Chain & Sprockets, tyres, pads, oil, filters etc. And service history, because these things really add up. You could get a Storm for £1000 but spend £400+ on consumables.
Likewise don't assume a £1500 Storm won't need all the above too!

Do you have a link to that one?
I do but I'm not putting it on until I've paid a deposit and it's confirmed it's mine mate. I don't want someone else grabbing it like happened to me last time.

2001 plate or the 2001+ model with digital fuel gauge and larger tank?
The original model didn't sell very well and so some exist with up to 2003 plates. If it's the upgraded model then you have a bloody bargain there
Slowly approaching the more bikes than birthdays achievement

It's a 2001 y plate. Not the newer model I'm afraid. Mind I still think it's still a lot of bike for little money. It looks clean and not huge miles on it.
Looks neat & tidy - not sure on the gold blingy bits (sell em to chric !)
Can't recall ever seeing a Harris exhaust on a storm before. Check it runs okay and if its been rejetted to suit. Also they look suspiciously like auto CCTs so add upgrading them to your to do list. Plus peak and see if it has the original unfinned R/R that will need binning and upgrading. Have a nosey under the rubber hood on the starter motor and check its corrosion free and ideally greased up.
It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.
Nice clean one is that and without rusty nuts so it has been looked after .
The Harris cans sound good too and nice and deep (ckennerdy has some fitted )
I would change them aliminum engine case bolts before they seize in place leaving you up shits creak !! .
