Yep..dunno how you're gonna get it back to original mate, its a brushed finish as standard. Probably less agro to get another singer if you really want it as original.

The good news.....bled my rear brake which has a good solid pedal now.

The bad news..... It's confirmed to me that the pressure switch is at fault and the reason for no rear brake light :( I'm a bit pissed of about it actually as I went straight for the named brand (Goodridge) and it's not even 2 years old yet. I never did like the way the wires come out from the switch/bolt end. They seem like a weak area to me and could do with more support around them to stop any flexing and putting stress on the wires. I should have really put some heat shrink over them but never did as that may have helped. I'm not saying the wire is at fault here as it could just as easily be the internal mechanism, I have no way of checking that. I may cut the thing apart and investigate once I have replaced it.

Decided to give this one a go.

While I'm at it, I decided to buy a bleed nippled banjo bolt to the front master cylinder.

Can someone please confirm this is the right thread size/pitch as I don't know if it's the same as elsewhere. I suspect it is, but just to make sure!

Going to go for a ride now and bed my brake pads in. :p
