Crash Bobbins
I think this is the right section to ask this...wasn't sure between this or pimp ride section!
Just wondering if anyone has used these crash bobbins on the 'Storms and if they rate them?

Re: Crash Bobbins
I have the R & G crash protectors on my bike, and yes I did need to drill the fairing. As with any protectors that go through the front engine mounting hole (like the ones you're asking about and mine), the biggest problem you may find will be removing the old engine mounting bolt. A lot of them have been found to be seized in place, and are a big job to remove. I was lucky with mine as the bike was fairly new when I fitted them, so I never had that problem.

Re: Crash Bobbins
+1 with r&g bungs. the link you posted looks similar to r&g set up. replacement rod with machined extenders. so when it is all fitted, the bung bolts on to the machined extender (after drilling fairing)
your link shows everything except bungs!
if you ebay r&g bungs for vtr firestorm, you can see the similarities with your link

Re: Crash Bobbins
It's a shame more of these sites that sell crash protection don't show an image of how they will look exactly on the bike. ie show us an example pic of them on the VTR.
A couple of other options.

Or make your own bracket and buy the bungs.

Re: Crash Bobbins
These ART protectors don't require drilling the panels.

Re: Crash Bobbins
I have the first ones in Cybercarls post. The previous owner dropped the bike when stationary, the only damage is a slightly bent clutch lever.
Oh and the makers name is scuffed!

Mirror extenders IMHO are well worth having for increased rear view.

Re: Crash Bobbins
When i was looking for extenders, the only thing available was the block on the fairing. (Too bulky for me). So made my own. Seen yours since i started making them. Did look at alternative mirrors but i quite like the look of our standard ones.
About 50/50 whether needed or not. I am happy to have them fitted. A big improvement for me.
