Which is the best option of a wench tool? 1/2 of an inch or 1/4? I'll need it generally for my beauty.

I take it you mean a socket set ?

It depends on the size of the nuts. 1/2'' dont go down too small & 1/4'' don't go too big.

Get a decent set with both in, even better get a set inc 3/8'' in as well. That way you'll cover all bases.

General rule of thumb is the more you pay the better quality tools you'll get.

As I said even better go for one with 3/8'' drive as well. You'll cover all bases from the smallest nuts...4mm upto 30mm+

Have a good look round & buy the best you can afford. Buy cheap & you can expect things to brake, round off & destroy your nuts !

It goes 1/4 being the smallest, then 3/8 then 1/2.

1/4 inch is only any good for your small nuts and bolts something like 12mm and under with very little torque. 3/8 will most likely be the most common to use with most nuts and bolts ranging from 8mm to 19mm approximately, with slightly more torque. So go easy on smaller nuts and bolts. Then 1/2 is needed for your bigger nuts and bolts which are done up to a higher torque like wheel nuts, suspension etc.

Best to buy a kit as Mac suggested which gives you a various selection.

So do I but the OP lives in Athens so doubt they have a Halfrauds anywhere near ....

& now it makes sense. I always thought it twas the other way round TBH ....DOH.

Still I was only really young when we went decimal so that's my excuse & I'm sticking to it.

From now on I will refer to my 3/8'' drive sockets as 9.52499999999999999999999999999 rec mm set

Get a decent selection of 8, 10, 12. 13. 14. 17. 19mm sockets and ring/open end spanners and a 1/2 inch ratchet with reducer/adaptors to fit the smaller sockets then buy smaller ratchets as you go.
Flat drive sockets are better than corner drive.
Get a decent torque wrench and don't use it as a wheel nut loosener on your car.
