Hello from Hong Kong

Post by kitsun »

Hi Guys

After a hiatus of 10 years from riding, decided that i'd better get back on the saddle. Got myself the a silver 1998 Firestorm with 38,000kms on it. Engine sounds and run fine but the previous owner had swapped to the K&N air filter and with the resulting hole in the low-mid range area which made riding around HK a pain. Changed back to the original air filter and the bike runs fine. The Arrows slip on silencers sounds the bees knees though :D

( ) .

Am getting around 13-14km/L from the bike which should give me a range of 200km before the bike grinds to a halt or 160-170km before i have to get worried about looking for a petrol station.

Have changed the old Battlax BT016 to Metzelers Sportec M5 and first impression is that the M5 has as much grip as the BT016 with less tyre wear from what i can see.

Have ordered a set of HyperPro front springs and a Nitron Sport rear shock and awaiting delivery. Will report back when the goods arrive and i've fitted them.

Thanks for the welcome guys. Apparently the youtube link I sent did not seem to work maybe this link works

Took the bike out for a its second run on the Metzeler M5. Managed to rub out the elephant head at the tyre edge. :cool2 and its still on its crappy front fork. I've got the front preload dialled up to the limit .
