actually i need some advice and was about to create a thread, but f*** it ill steal yours, lol!
heres my questions:
1) standup wheelies, does anyone find these are harder to slow down then standard ones?
2)on the longer wheelies, not stand up how the hell do i see where im going?
3)last of all, on a stock bike, im told you should be able to stand up wheelie in 2nd with the clutch or power?? your views as im puzzled on this one!!

Nope, usually too scared to try (tales of 'if you wheelie you will at some point dump it')
until...was leaving Lasham airfield after a lovely cup of tea (these small airfields are cracking for that, Lasham, Old Sarum, Compton Abbas etc) Nice quiet stretch of road...sod it I'm gonna nail it in first, feed the power in (I know the front comes up in first) more, more, hit the rev limiter, dump it into second...HOLY CRAP..WEE HEE!!!

I found stand ups harder because it feels more unstable.
2)on the longer wheelies, not stand up how the hell do i see where im going?
Far as seeing where your going mid wheelie if you can't see over the top I found it ok to rock ones head to one side, maybe leaning a touch while keeping the bike pointing in the right direction and you can see round the side... Try the idea on a pushbike 1st, the mega twitchyness of a push bike means if you can do it on a push bike moto is a piece of piss but with obviously greater potential for damage if you get it wrong (flipped RD350 going from 3rd-4th outside a pub where my mates were, nearly 10 year ago! hasn't stopped me, merely made me more cautious and gradual)so....

I tried to wheelie in second but found it required the kind of abuse that you'd need to give a 400cc, severe clutching is what the doctor orders for this one! I wouldn't bother, not worth it. Raise in 1st, bang into 2nd and go son go!
but then I aint an expert, just a bit of a hacker really....
