Put the rear end back together on Drooper.

Took some bits off Drooper, then took another breather when Jamie ''the Petcock killer of old Alresford Town'' turned up to collect me spare petcock.
Meanwhile back at Drooper... stripped off the rear end to get this off...
Be putting a standar shock & swinger on tomorrow.
The Nitron will be heading Nue Red's way...
Do love the Nirton stuff, looks wise its the best shock money can by imo.

Actually rode it!!
Bit nippy this morning up in the frozen North (about 4c) but was nice to get it out and had the excuse of needing to empty the tank a little before doing the CCTs

Put the back end back on the bike after 3 yearly check and replace any dead seals and regrease prolink bearings, also cleaned swing arm and link brackets, just need to put plastics back on and torque all bolts up on exhaust ready for Jamie's maintenance day and MOT.

Got behind the sprocket cover with a toothbrush and some degreaser. yuck.
Fitted a new bearing to the sprocket carrier, and went and collected my first shiny bit, fairing support bracket picked up from powder coaters. Looks nice.
Wish I had sent my wheels to the same place, they haven't even been blasted yet
I have asked for quotes for caphead bolt sets from a couple of ebay sellers, I'll post if I get a good one back. I couldn't find Bolt Base but then I never figured out how to search for a seller. pita!

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
I will. It's a shed full of bits at the moment though. When I put it back together i'll take some pics along the way.
It's a bit of a half job, I was looking at the exhaust today, thinking how much the downpipes need to come off, but the heads need to come off as it's burning a little bit of oil (I can smell it) and I think it needs some valve stem seals. Trouble is, if I do that, I am into a complete ground up rebuild, and I want to ride it now. So it will wait till the winter for all that. Still, doing 70% of the bike. Just engine and frame left to sort.
The plan for the winter is to strip and check the whole engine, and then get the cases powder coated.
