I've just been searching for a full side on pic, but no luck. I'll take one when I next get the opportunity if you're still after one?

I like your thinking with the red frame, if it was done well I think it could look great. Personally I like coloured trellis framed bikes, like the Ducati, Ktm, Bimota etc. Weather or not the larger spar and cast type frame on the Storm would look any good remains to be seen.

I think there's a 90% chance it would be totally awesome, and if it really didn't work? only about £80 to get it blasted and coated Satin black instead. Won't be happening for months anyway, so I got time to think about it.

Monster day on the bike today, only just come in from a shake down ride.

Started with the rear end going back together.





Then the body panels etc went on. The new seat covering has a half inch of foam under it in addition to the standard, it meant the seat cover had a good half inch gap from the seat unit. I had to pack up the rear screw mount of the seat unit fairing with a couple of nuts to close the gap. Sitting very close now and looks ok.





All went back together, left the original disk on for now, just didn't use it. All brake system bled through and everything, just didn't want to bed the new pads in when I am changing the disk.

Had to go for a ride and get some gratuitous arty shots.

Not TOO much, the road up to there has a nice big ridge of gravel right down the middle, but I wanted a shakedown in case I missed any important bolts or anything, so it was just a gentle scrub in for the new tyres. The PR4's feel totally awesome by the way.

Have a think before going PR4, I looked into it, they are not a newer next step on from PR3, they are a slightly heavier sidewall designed for heavier bikes. Meant to be more stable at high speed. I went for them because quite frankly my weight means he bike is weighted up as if with a pillion all the time. If you are a skinny strip the 3s might be a better option, lighter tyre, less mass to spin up.

A lot of the guys on Busa's etc are using 4s for high speed touring on the continent.

Ahhh good tip! I'm about 13st all up, I run my qualifiers around 32f 36r and they squirm a little when cold so I know when they are warmed up, which I quite like. So the pr3 is a flexier, softer tyre than the pr4? I'll do some more reading... pr3's are cheaper too me likey

Yep, I nearly went PR3 again myself, they were the best tyres I ever had on the Fazer. I thought it was worth trying the 4s though on the recommendation of the tyre place (they are a bike specialist and know their stuff) purely down to my weight. I was taking it steady today but they felt rock solid from the first turn of the wheel.

Thanks for the info dude I've never tried touring tyres before but with the ammount of long distance riding I have planned this year it would be daft to use the softer types.

I haven't heard anyone complain about the pr3's and in fact the pr2's get very good reviews.

I'll stop filling you're project thread up with tyre talk now!

I just remembered, I bought the black bike from wales, then to London, then to Colchester, and then back to wales, I think it must like lamb. a bit like lloydie.....

Thanks for that, very useful.

Not overly taken with the red frame there, but I can't help thinking a full black fairing and a translucent candy red would look SO much better.
