Exhaust paste or not?

Post by Styler4077 »

Just finishing off my Red CBR/VTR/VRF Hybrid and the only job now is to put the exhausts on for the last time :D :)D :-)D
I hope :(
Any way I have a fresh tube if Holts exhaust fitting paste.
Do I use it or just bolt it up tight?
Exhaust cans are Blue Flame and the clamps are all new.

Cheers

And then cracks up and falls out anyway. That stuff is only ever good as temporary bodge repair. You would be better off with some heat resistant silicone as it resists vibrations and seals up any small gaps nicely. I always put a ring around pipes when fitting along with clamping up.

+ 1 on the gasket silicon jut done mine & there are no leaks anywhere. Wish I had used the clear stuff rather than the black but managed to clean off the excess

At least it wasn't Red. The first stuff I got was bright Red and looked awful. A bit of Meths on a rag is good for wiping any excess off that squiges out.

I use the following but there are various brands and colours out there. Just search for high temperature silicone.
