small hands = clutch problems

Post by feistyangel »

Hopefully you guys can give me some advice!

I just got a new baby, a Firestorm. I got her sprayed pink, brand new tyres, full service, luggage rack fitted etc etc,

Only thing is, I can't bloody ride her!!!

I've spoken to Honda, & cause she's got a hydraulic clutch it can't be altered (like the cable cluth on my SV), so I got a special lever from http://www.fasterbydesign.com, which is fab, but the biting point is still too far away! I'm getting my mechanic to check out getting another master cylinder for the clutch, but anyone got any other ideas??

Alternatively does anyone want to swap her for an SV?

Or just buy her??

Hi Feisty
:D Welcome on Board :D
You sprayed it Pink 8O Wow! At least we'll be able to spot you in a croud
There are loads of pattern levers about with different shapes to them which will fit but just as an idea if you can't find one which has an adjustable clutch lever why not have a look at fitting an adjustable front brake lever and fitting it upside down, then you can put it in any position you want. Never tried it myself (hands like an orang-utan) but I think it should work.

thanx for your replies!

I got that pissed off with it today, & took it down to verewood (crescent) suzuki & traded it in for another SV650! I got sod all for it, but hey! It is November!

I'm really gutted, cause she was a peach to ride... as long as I didn't have to change gear... which was a slight problem.

Thanx for all your help anyway!

I'll prob post a pic on here anyway... there's not many pink firestorms around!!

Cheers guys,

i'm sad to hear that feisty, there must have been a less drastic solution.

hope you'll stick around now that the introductions are out the way.
