Hi all cheers for the welcome
Reason for the high mileage i was a motorcycle instructor for many years which dont half rack tthe miles up.
Bike is basicaly standard apart from the carbs which had some parts that were supplied to me from one of the guys down at honda when they were at chiswick, the parts in question were different needles ,springs and emulsion tubes ,they certainly changed the feel of the engine ( in a good way!)
Its still on original tensioners never had probs apart from when it was new theyhad a bit of a rattly period for a while, which was just initial slack being taken up.

maybe a hrc jet kit was fitted?
good to hear about a high mileage bike being trouble free, but that's old Honda's for you.
I was wondering, has your bike been in constant use since you bought it, I have a theory that auto cct's don't like being inactive for long periods of time, for example 6mths up to several years, there's normally a spate of failures in spring, although this year doesn't seem to have been that bad.
HEY YOU GUYS!!!!!!

Just shows, used the bike all the time the cct springs don't have chance to get condensation and corrode .
