buying exhaust studs, advice needed

has anyone purchased them fro ebay?
there seems to be two types, stainless steel and what looks like mild steel....

any advice on which is best guys, I would have thought stainless but i'm no expert..... :confused

Stainless isn't high tensile, but there not that tight, however if you pick up a thread on s/s there a bugger to get the nuts off. Stainless can bind up unbelievably but being careful and some copper slip and you should be fine with the second ones.

That's the one thing that I detest about stainless steel threads :thumbdown:

First ones are crap...two different size threads, one of them for an 8mm nut to hold the flange on. Second one looks OK but I would be tempted to go with OM and just maintain them with copper slip.
