Dyno time ! New main jets needle shims or a Dyno jet kit .
£250+ for set up at most places all just to fit a air filter when the standard works great with these bikes .
Mine made most power it ever had with standard air filter, jets , and exhaust last year , sure it had other mods .

try a bmc road filter, mik in canada rates them as the best balance between a road(oem) and race(k&n/pipercross) filter...

I have had very good results with the BMC street. Our mate Markus (aka Tweety) has done extensive testing with many air filters and came to the conclusion that the BMC was the best overall option, IIRC

BMC street still needs proper settings as there is hole in 4-5 rpm, I don't think there is significant difference to KN.
I went back to paper.

I'm also running the BMC street but as mentioned will need jetting to suit as would any significant change.
