I've picked up a set of Harris rear sets that came from a storm that had fallen on it's left side so the gear side footpeg is slightly loose (wobbles around a few mill), suspect the fixing bolt may be bent/stretched.
Just wanting to check with any forum members with these rear sets fitted, before getting the big spanners out!
Are they normal right hand threads?
Has anyone had difficulty removing their foot pegs? Do they have thread lock on?
I tried using an allen head socket and bar without any result. recomended method? heat/impact driver?
left soaking in penetrating oil for now.

Hi AH, yes regular rh thread on the footrest bolt, I think you've done the right thing by soaking in penetrating oil, but if the bolt is slightly bent it might be resisting removal a bit more than usual.
Worse case scenario after trying a extension bar and a bit of "how's ya father" would be to drill the head off the bolt and replace with a straight one.
A few taps with a hammer might help if the bolt is corroded in place.

I threadlocked mine and done them up real tight as they kept working loose and swivelling while riding. The tricky bit is getting the bolt at it's tightest point with the peg at the right angle for foot to rest on as the bottom of peg has hollow cut out if that makes sense. IIRC I think I put a spring washer on between the peg and the mounting plate to take up a little slack.

yup, with the added confidence of them not being a left hand thread a bit more elbow grease sorted it out.
A ton of bloody thread lock on it though.
