brake calipers for sale...NOW SOLD!!!

Post by agentpineapple »

mint condition calipers....£70 includes delivery to mainland uk.
these calipers are from my 2004 bike, they have only covered 10.000 miles, I have ultrasonically cleaned them, there's not a mark on them, to look at they're as good as new, they worked perfectly, the only reason they were removed was because I've upgraded to fireblade calipers.
although they're in great condition, I would still advise that they have the pistons removed and checked, after all these are secondhand.
but I've not seen calipers as good as these on ebay/gumtree.
I will ship abroad at the buyers cost.

I agree they do look in exceptional condition but £70 ? what does that make a set of SP1 / F4 / CBR 9 et al calipers worth ?
BTW I really hope you get what you want for them and I’m not having a go in any way I’m just curious how much more a set of the calipers typically used in upgrades are likely to fetch in comparison. good luck with the sale
I've now gone all European and bought a KTM Superduke GT and Aprilia RSV1000R :D ,
Storm is now gone  .

good luck trying to find a low mileage good quality set of sp or blade calipers for under £100. you won't find them in the uk.
by all means go and buy a tatty set of storm calipers for £50, from a seller you don't know and from a bike you have no clue as of it's history or mileage. just check on ebay fella.
having sold and bought more than my fair share of storm parts over the years I believe £70 for a good quality set of calipers is a fair price imho.
of course you are welcome to your opinion fella.
it's also rather annoying to see you have replies and a possible sale, only to find out you haven't....

sorry if I was a tad abrupt mate, in the last few years I've kept track of blade from 98 to 2003 calipers and sp1 and 2 calipers.
I did manage to find a set of 98 blade calipers for a reasonable price, but it took a long time and it was a gamble as to their condition.
I also bought a set of good condition sp2 calipers, but these I had to buy from the usa, because I couldn't find any in the uk for under £150, btw from the usa they cost me £40, although I did ask a fellow member to kindly smuggle them back into the country for me...
buying used brake calipers is always a gamble, it helps if you know the seller....

just spied these on ebay.........http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-VTR-100 ... 4ad38b87b2
sp2 front calipers with matching m/c and braided lines, if you could get the lot for £150, i'd consider that to be a bargain, I bid on a a sp2 m/c a few months ago and it ended up going for £75, although the m/c in this advert looks tatty, a quick coat of paint will sort that out.
i'm running sp2 calipers, braided lines, Armstrong discs, brembo red pads with motul factory line fluid, and the brakes are fantastic, in the near future I hope to fit a sp2 m/c, as i'm running a standard m/c atm, once fitted I expect the brakes to be even better....

no problem mate and I understand what you mean about receiving a reply only to find it’s some idiot questioning the price, just consider it a free thread bump :D ,
and as I said in my post I meant no offence I was just curious as how OE calipers compared price wise to the accepted upgrades. I been looking to upgrade my own brakes for quite a while so I fully understand the limited availability, variation in prices/condition and that the majority offered are from over the pond with all the inerrant issues (shipping/customs etc).
