Factory Pro HDJ needle jet
Re: Factory Pro HDJ needle jet
They (FP) don't make them specifically for VTR carbs. His reply when I first sent a query was "we'll see if my Honda needle jets can be used".... hence the start of the adventure....,

Argh I see. Still it will be interesting to hear your results. I liked that youtube link you posted.

I certainly hope the installation works out.... I cannot see this NOT being beneficial...... only downside is I will likely have to tear into the carbs again to get everything sorted, this after finally having a great set-up that works across the board..... another upside is that the HDJ jets are nickel plated, so will wear much longer than the stock brass bits....

You should (or Marc) should have no issues swapping out those bits.
Yes many say that they are not replaceable but the needle jet and all the other brass "non-replaceable" are available from SUDCO if you even need any of them

Re: Factory Pro HDJ needle jet
I see no reason why he couldn't do it on the VTR carbs if he can do it on the Keihins on CBR900RRs (and other Hondas, as per website), for example. However, will his HDJ jet be a proper replacement (in terms of proper fitment)?
I can tell you I am sure hoping it all works out...... I see a real potential upside to this (dramatic improvement in atomization, with all the benefits it brings)
Guess we'll soon know

Re: Factory Pro HDJ needle jet
so, I finally heard back from Marc at FP and he has successfully installed the HDJ needle jets. He stated that he would need to install one of his 1.7 jet kits too, however. I must say that this one was somewhat unexpected but some Google searches indicates that his said kits have an excellent reputation, so may as well try it......

Re: Factory Pro HDJ needle jet
indeed... I have high hopes for the HDJ needle jet in particular.... hopefully it won't cost me an arm and a leg, however (though getting results inevitably costs money).......

Re: Factory Pro HDJ needle jet
That they do :-( .
Will you be doing before and after dynos ?
I do like the way the jets send out a spray instead of a trickle and should make a much better burn

That's the kit where the main air bleeds are drilled out. A 1.4mm on the front and a 1.1mm for the rear. How's this going to work with your Flow commanderHe stated that he would need to install one of his 1.7 jet kits too

Re: Factory Pro HDJ needle jet
well, I think I will have to give up use of my F-C for this set of carbs (though I just picked a system for the pilot circuit that I have yet to install, so my put it on this set, or the existing.... not sure)...... hopefully it will be worth it......
will see for the dyno. I will go with what I feel from the seat of the pants. My game plan will be to get the calibration as close as possible before taking it to the dyno for final fine-tuning......
