Need Roger Ditchfield's Help. Please PM me. Need Specs

Post by thedeatons »

Planning to pull the frame off this winter and brace the frame with flat plate & aluminum tubing. I already have the 900RR swingarm brace done, so I'm super-excited to get the frame done and powdercoated to match!

Roger: If you're out there, can you please work with me somehow on the following:

1) What gauge aluminum to use behind the cast sections on the side of the frame?

2) What gauge aluminum to use behind the steering head?

3) What size/gauge box tubing to use between the frame spars, above the radiators?

4) If you have any pictures of a frame this has been done to (properly), please share them. I have no idea where the plate/tubing locations should be...

Thank you so much! Your input is greatly appreciated!

Isn't this a bit like, asking Gordon Ramsey for all the exact ingredients and cooking instructions for one of his signature dishes?

Exactly

James,
I know Roger has been more than generous over the years with giving out free help and advice for our bikes, but at the end of the day he is trying to make a living from his business, he's not running a charity.
My suggestion would be for you to contact Roger, and see if he would be interested in taking on the work for you,

Chris.

Oh!!! I had no idea this was a service offered by Roger. So sorry about that.

I honestly thought this was something no one was really doing anymore. Didn't mean to step on anyone's toes. SORRY!!!!

Does anyone have contact information for Roger? Please PM me if you'd like.

Mods: feel free to delete this thread. My apologies.

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Hi James,
There's no need to apologise or any need to delete your thread. The point I was making was, it's all to easy for some (not in your case seeing as you didn't know) to forget Roger is trying to run a business. Perhaps that sounded a bit harsh, but that was not my intention.

My suggestion of contacting Roger was to see if he can offer you the services of modifying your Firestorm frame as you stated in your original post. That way he then has the option, but at least he has been offered the work first, I hope that makes sense,

Chris.

**EDIT**
Oops I just remembered you're not in the UK.
I wish people would add their location  well that's my excuse anyway
