This site has turned out to be very helpful for cross referencing parts

Put: starter blackbird as keywords in the Search box

Most +600cc starters on Hondas late 90s/early00s will fit.
It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

This site is a quick reference I've found helpful when cross referencing which starter motors are compatible, I've found a CB500f motor fits too!

*Scroll up to the top for a list, look for the part number AHSMU0095 for all bikes with the same S/M

You can also make an SP1 motor fit- it's only the casting with the bolts that go through to mount it on the engine that are different; the rest of the motor is the same.
Swap the end and shim and away you go. Lots of Honda models will also fit with the same adaptation.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
